This sculpture alludes to a story from Speech of the Birds - a Persian poem by Attar, the Sufi poet. Once upon a time, the birds gather from all over the world to select their sovereign, as they have none. The hoopoe, the wisest bird of them all, and the leader of birds suggest that they should find the legendary Simorgh – a renowned character of Persian legends, combined from words Si as thirty and Morgh as birds. So, all of the birds went looking for Simorgh. Despite the arduous challenges of the way, only thirty of them attained the end. In fact, there was no specific bird as Simorgh from the beginning, but these birds were Simorgh themselves. Here it is, one of those thirty birds that made it to the end.
